PTFA

Welcome to Belhaven's new Parents, Teachers and Friends Association!

The objectives of the PTFA are:

  • To harness the enthusiasm and energy of parents, teachers and friends of Belhaven for the greater benefit of the school and its community.
  • To provide a forum for easy communication with current and former parents, prospective parents and staff.
  • To enhance the strong sense of community that already exists between pupils, OBs, parents and staff at Belhaven.
  • To contribute to Belhaven's social, communication and charitable agendas.

Belhaven Hill Sports DaySandy

The PTFA was launched in the summer of 2016. To date we have organised several happy events; these have included a gathering of OBs at the New Club to say fond farewell to David & Jacquie Peek, and a wonderful tea party to say thank you and goodbye to our former Headmaster and his wife, Innes & Sandy MacAskill.

You can see the photos and slide show from Peeky's drinks party here.

What kind of events and activities are the PTFA going to run?

  • Charitable events which are part of our diverse programme for public benefit.
  • Regional drinks parties for the wider Belhaven family and friends.
  • Activities, mainly at weekends, hosted by parents who are happy to share their facilities.
  • Gatherings for the benefit of OBs, both in Scotland and further afield.
  • Creative activities for our children and their siblings to enjoy.

We are producing some high quality, navy blue Belhaven umbrellas which will cost £25.  We have also created some prints of the picture of Belhaven given to Mr Peek as a leaving present (unframed about £20 and framed about £50). To  get an idea of demand, could anyone interested in purchasing either, please email Natasha Ramsay.  (YES UMBRELLA or YES PRINT is all we need!).

It’s just to get a rough idea of how many to order.  There will be no obligation to buy.

Calling All Parents, Teachers and Friends of Belhaven

Would you like to get involved with the PTFA in any of the following ways?

  • By contributing brilliant ideas for events and activities.
  • By volunteering to help coordinate and organise any events.
  • Being willing and able to offer your facilities at the weekends for the benefit of our children. These could include opportunities for sailing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, camping or culture (ideally, based within 2 hours drive of Belhaven).
  • By volunteering to go onto the waiting list for the PTFA Committee when space becomes available. Members are on the Committee for one year only, so we’d welcome anyone who’d be interested in joining for the next tenure. However, there are, of course, limited spaces.

If you would like to help us in any of the above ways, please contact Natasha Ramsay, the Chair of the PTFA, by email.  We would be delighted to hear from you!
